Thank you for your calls of concern regarding the Okanagan Fires. We are not in danger from the fires. Sunday, we smelled the fires, been inendated with smoke, could see the smoke plumes across the lake and had ash fall on our property.
Sunday morning while Joshua and I were getting groceries, we witnessed a water bomber drop several loads of fire retardant on a grass fire in Mission Creek, a couple minutes drive from the Superstore we were at. That was exciting for him to see. By the time we came back out of the store, the fire was out. It was crazy to see such a large plane flying that low within city limits.
My parents, sister and I walked Downtown Sunday night and saw the huge smoke cloud from the Rose Valley fire. Here’s a photo someone took.
