Well, we’re home! Two and a half weeks of visiting can really tire you out. As I right this, it is gently raining outside. Quite the change from the scorching heat we have encountered.
I’ll start by finishing off telling our Creston story. Elizabeth (mom-in-law) and I canned 17 jars of pickles. Yu-hu-um. On the Tuesday, the 5 of us went for dinner in the State of Idaho. the border was a breeze. Wednesday, Jason went golfing with his dad. Aww. Thursday was pretty quiet. Jason had to work. But we took the convertible for a nice night drive up the Kootenay Lake.
Friday was our 5th Wedding Anniversary. Yeah us!
Friday morning we set out for Revelstoke to see Justin and Natalie for the weekend. It should have been a leisurly 4.5 hr trip. It took us 7.5 hours! We had to wait for FOUR ferries. That’s all I’ll say about that. Saturday we all went for a paved hike to the Meadows in the Sky, on Mt. Revelstoke. Sunday we spent 4 hours at Lake Revelstoke. Justin took me out in the canoe across the lake. We saw a lovely, secluded waterfall. The row back was met with cross waves and fighting the current. Needless to say, the next day I was feeling it in my back and butt.
Monday we made the 3.5 hour treck home. And no, it should not have taken that long either. On the Vernon side of Wood Lake, we were detourde to the other side of the lake because of an accident. I have never seen so much unesseccary scenery. But we finally made it home. Aye. That was a lot of driving. Joshua was a trooper through all of it.
Yesterday, I had a relaxing day weeding and watering my gardens. Home sweet home.
