We kicked off our year by visiting the Calgary Zoo on the September long weekend. We went with some of our extended family from Calgary, AB and Creston, BC. The kids were super excited, as the closest we’ve come to a zoo is a few cows, sheep, pigs and horses at the local Pumpkin farms in Kelowna.
It was beautiful weather for a long 5 hour day of walking. We explored everything but the Dino exhibit.
The girls had an animal checklist to keep track of what they saw.
We had our mid-way snack break beside the Bears.
The butterfly exhibit was unique.
Joshua’s goal was to see the Lemurs.
The Penguin exhibit was the perfect ending to our day. It was cool in more ways than one.
