I am now in my 37th week. According to my Doctor, I am 1cm dilated, but don’t hold your breath. Last time around, I was at 3cm’s for two weeks. The kids seem to understand what’s going on with Mommy’s growing tummy. Gabrielle pokes at my navel and says “Beep”. Joshua pokes at my belly and says “Baby”. He gives it kisses often. They both have fun blowing raspberries on my stomach. Hilarious! This baby will be well accepted when he/she comes home. I know for sure that I want the kids to meet the baby in the hospital, so the home-coming isn’t a shock for them like it was for Joshua (poor kid never saw it coming).
We’re moving slower this time with getting needed items for our new arrival. Like…we don’t have a car seat yet. We were fortunate enough to borrow one for Gabrielle, but that one is still in use by its owner. With us currently planning on going for four kids, we’re just gonna buy one (soon I hope). We have a bassinet, but our Play Pen needs replacing, so I’d like to get one with a bassinet feature. There’s room enough to change them on there too (nice, no peeing on my bed). I really want a Monitor system. Our swing takes up more room than I like, so I’m gonna try to borrow a table-top version. We’re working on replacing the strollers with a Phil & Ted’s Dash. They are back-ordered everywhere. It’ll be helpful having a normal sized stroller, that fits two and is a light weight three-wheeler. I have a Bjorn. We’ll need a storage friendly wash tub, like a ‘Tummy Tub’. Eventually I’d like a ‘Bumbo’ seat. Gabrielle loved the one we borrowed. She just grew out of it so fast (always tried to pop out sideways). I’d like a Milk Pump. Probably an ‘Avent’ (simply because it’s the only one I’ve tried). We’ll get Glass Bottles I guess. Oh, and we should probably get diapers too.
I need to pick out a coming home outfit for the little one. Hand-me-downs are fine for after that day. I need to write my Hospital Bag list, our email address list and our phoning list. did I mention the house needs cleaning, top to bottom? Ha Ha. That’s not a “Nesting thing”, that’s just a “Heather thing”. But I’ll do as minimal as possible. At least I stopped mowing the lawns…
18 days to go, 18 days… 18 days? Ahhh!
